This year, your support made a significant difference in Lelt's communities in Ethiopia. Together, we advanced programs that expand opportunity, strengthen families, and support long-term stability. Here is a snapshot of what we accomplished in 2025:
Supporting Education for a Brighter Future

Education remains a key to long-term success. In 2025, Lelt’s Scholarship Program provided college scholarships to 42 students graduating from state orphanages. These scholarships provide more than financial aid; they offer a pathway to new opportunities and independence.
Additionally, 24 students from Lelt’s partner organization Open Future Ethiopia also received scholarships for college and vocational schools. This support helps young people gain skills that match the needs of their communities and the job market.
Providing Holistic Care for Families

More than 200 children and families benefited from comprehensive care programs. These programs address critical needs such as nutrition, education, hygiene, and healthcare. By meeting these basic needs, Lelt helps families build stronger foundations for the future.
This approach recognizes that children thrive best when their entire family is supported. Access to healthcare and proper nutrition improves school attendance and performance, while hygiene education reduces illness.

Creating Opportunities for People with Disabilities

Through our partnership with SALU, 88 individuals with disabilities gained greater independence through vocational training and livelihood development. Lelt’s targeted programs include skills training and small business support, helping participants earn income and build confidence.
These efforts show how focused support can break down barriers and create real chances for self-reliance. The success stories from this group highlight the value of practical skills and community inclusion.
Building Community Resources with Local Partners

Lelt partnered with Anchor Ethiopia to open the Suki-Mariam Community Center in 2023, which has grown to serve more families through the past year. This center features Lelt's third solar-powered digital literacy lab, serving 50 children and 160 family members. Access to technology and digital skills is essential in today’s world, and this lab provides a safe, sustainable space for learning.
The community center also acts as a hub for education and social support, strengthening ties among families and neighbors. This project demonstrates how collaboration with local organizations can expand reach and impact to the most under-served communities.
The Power of Lelt's Donors
Your generosity made these achievements possible. Each scholarship awarded, family supported, and skill taught represents a step forward for individuals and communities. As we look ahead, continuing this work will help even more people build better lives.
