As we begin the Ethiopian New Year 2018, Lelt remains dedicated to working with local partners to support students and families striving for a dignified life. With global support systems strained, Lelt’s focus on education, economic independence, and well-being is more vital than ever.
Through partnerships with Anchor Ethiopia, Open Future Ethiopia (OFE), and the Salu Self-Help Blind and Handicapped Association, Lelt looks forward to a year filled with new opportunities for families in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Education, Nutrition, and Economic Mobility
In collaboration with Anchor Ethiopia and OFE, Lelt continues to expand access for underserved families to digital literacy training, after-school education and meals, food and ration distribution, healthcare support, and entrepreneurship training.

With Anchor Ethiopia, Lelt is funding a transformative initiative in Suki-Mariam, near Addis
Ababa’s Koshe landfill area, to help residents build sustainable livelihoods.

Through Open Future Ethiopia, Lelt supports 170 vulnerable children with scholarships, nutrition, school materials, mentoring, and tutorial programs, while also promoting life skills, children’s rights, and personal development to foster holistic growth.

Empowering Persons with Disabilities
Partnering with the Salu Self-Help Blind and Handicapped Association, Lelt is funding the project “Economic Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities through Livelihood Improvement” in Nifas Silk Lafto and Kolfe Keranyo.

Launched in March 2025, the project provides 80 participants with hands-on vocational training in cotton-mat weaving, broom and brush making, candle crafting, and traditional wicker weaving. This year’s goals include completing all training, offering seed capital to graduates, and strengthening market linkages so new skills lead to lasting income and independence.

Lelt Foundation is grateful for our donors' support to change the lives and livelihoods of our communities in Ethiopia.
