Yordanos is 8 years old and in 4th grade at Boyez Elementary School in Kara Kore, Ethiopia. Her favorite food is pasta. When she grows up, she wants to be a doctor.

Yordanos's father died when she was a few years old, leaving her mother, Askanech, to support her 3 children by herself. Because Askanech never went to school in her village, she has had trouble finding employment. She lives off small jobs like doing laundry and cleaning for neighbors. But she doesn't make enough income to feed her children. This family is living in crisis. If Yordanos is sponsored for $35/month, she will receive daily meals and after school tutoring. If her family is sponsored for $15 additional a month, they will all receive monthly food rations and medical care, and her mother will receive priority to enroll in our Family Business Program, where she will be empowered to start her own small business.
