Tariku is in 1st grade at Hidase Elementary School in Kara Kore, Ethiopia. His favorite subject is English, and he wants to be in the military when he grows up. 
 

Tariku's parents are day laborers. This is exhaustive work and pays very little. Although they work long days hauling construction equipment, they cannot provide enough to feed their two children. This family is suffering from nutrition-related illnesses as a result. If Tariku is sponsored for $35/month, he will receive daily meals, after-school tutoring, and basic medical care. If his family is sponsored for an additional $15 a month, they will all receive monthly food rations and medical care, and his parents will be given priority to enroll in our Family Business Program, where they will be empowered to start their own small business and earn an income.
