Tamirat is 9 years old, and in 2nd grade at Repi Primary School in Karakore, Ethiopia. He has 3 brothers and 1 sister. He is a frisky boy, so he likes Taekwondo and soccer. His favorite subject in school is Mathematics.

Tamirat’s father is a weaver and his mother bakes food to sell at the market. They work hard but cannot raise enough wages to properly feed their large family. With the help of a sponsor, they can get the help they need to become successful and pull themselves out of poverty. If Tamirat is sponsored for $35/month, he will receive daily meals, after school tutoring, and basic medical care. If his family is sponsored for an additional $15 a month, they will all receive monthly food rations and medical care, and his parents will be given priority to enroll in our Family Business Program, where they will be empowered to start their own small business and earn an income.
