Marta (third from the right) is entering 6th grade at Amanuel Elementary School in Karakore, Ethiopia. Her favorite subject is science, and she wants to be an artist when she grows up.

Marta's parents both passed away from complications with TB 8 years ago. She went to live with her cousin, Behailu,  and her little brother went to his grandparents. Behailu has a wife and 4 children, and his income from his small grocery business is too low to support all 5 children adequately. This family often goes with just one meal a day. If Marta is sponsored for $35/month, she will receive daily meals and after school tutoring. If her family is sponsored for $15 additional a month, they will all receive monthly food and medical rations. Her cousin will also be enrolled in our Family Business Program, where he will be empowered to expand his small business to generate a sustainable income.
