Bethlehem is 12 years old in 5th grade at Repi Primary School in Kara Kore, Ethiopia. She loves to play games with friends, and wants to be an engineer when she grows up.

Bethlehem's father left the family 3 years ago, so she and her sister live with their mother, Almaz. Almaz works as a day laborer, which is difficult and back-breaking work for a low wage. This family is living in crisis. If Bethlehem is sponsored for $35/month, she will receive daily meals and after school tutoring. If her family is sponsored for $15 additional a month, they will all receive monthly food rations and medical care, and her mother will receive priority to enroll in our Family Business Program, where she will be empowered to start her own small business.
